United States President ‘Donald Trump‘ made a gathering of world leaders at the Group of 7 summit a video conference and canceled plans to hold the June meeting in person at Camp David due to the coronavirus pandemic.
‘Donald Trump’ a video conference with the leaders of the world’s major industrialized countries earlier this week and plans to repeat that in April, May, and June, when the Physical meeting at the presidential retreat in Maryland was planned to take place.
Now, currently, every country to focus all of its resources on responding to the health and economic challenges of COVID-19 and at President Donal Trump’s direction, National Economic Council Director and the United States Sherpa for the 2020 G7 Larry Kudlow has informed his Sherpa colleagues that the G7 Leaders Summit the U.S was set to host in June at Camp David will now be complete by video teleconference. The decision to hold the meeting complete videoconference will keep each country from spending the money that it would have taken to prepare for, and travel to, the G7, and will free up the staffers who would have been planning the summit.
During Monday’s videoconference, the G7 leaders agreed to coordinate their response to the pandemic even as fractures emerge between Europe and the United States over travel restrictions and efforts to develop a vaccine.
The White House also said the other G7 members that in order to continue close coordination, the president will convene the Leaders via video conference in April and May just as he did this week. The conclusion to hold the meeting over videoconference will keep each country from spending the money that It would have taken to prepare for, and travel to, the G7 and will free up the staffers who would have been planning the summit.
After initially vowing to continue to meet with supporters at political rallies and fund-raisers, Mr. Trump has canceled campaign events as the virus has spread throughout the United States, But the Group of 7 is the largest diplomatic gathering he has rescheduled so far this year.
