After passed the CAA bill by the government of India, The protest against the India government is taking place. Many states of India are suffering from the protest, people are getting arrested for the protest and damaging the government because of this the situation is making worse.
Besides that, some of the political parties have changed their stand in one week since the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The Citizenship Amendment Act was passed by the Parliament of India on December 11, 2019.
WHAT IS CAA(CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT ACT)
The CAA also known as Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019, was passed by the parliament of India on December 11, 2019. It amends the Citizenship Act of 1955 by providing a path to the Indian Citizenship for Hindus, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, Christians religious minorities from the neighboring Muslims majority countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afganistan.
CURRENT SITUATION OF INDIA
The picture of India is changing day-by-day after the passage of the Citizenship Act. People are protesting against the Act, and also performing violence activities like damaging government & public properties, harming police and other securities facilities. India’s government banned internet services for not spreading fake news and violent messages.
the protest started in on December 4, 2019, in Assam after the bill was introduced in parliament. Later, the protest spread like fire in all northeast India and subsequently in all major cities. On December 15, police forcibly entered the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University, where major protests were being held. Police used batons and tear gas on the students, and more than 200 students were injured and around 100 were detained overnight in the police station.
The unprecedented level of police brutality was widely criticized and resulted in students intensifying their protests across the country in response to the reprisals.
Many of the Political parties first stand with the Amendment Bill but after the time passes they change their views and stand against the Bill.
