This is great news for fans You must be familiar with the fact that America Ferrera, who plays Amy, announced her departure from the popular blue-collar comedy after season 5. The creators had planned a conclusive ending for the character, which was supposed to feature in the Superstore season 5 finale.
Since the world got struck by the COVID-19 pandemic and all production had to be put on hold, the makers couldn’t manage to shoot the finale.
Unfortunately, you will have to wait for some time for the final episode of the season. Superstore season 5 episode 21, is all set to release on April 23, 2020, on NBC.
If you don’t have a cable subscription, you can watch the show on Hulu, Direct TV, and Fubo TV. Superstore is also available as a VOD service on YouTube TV. You can also purchase the episodes on Amazon Prime. You can also watch the Superstore season 5 episode 21 by running to NBC at the above mentioned time. You cama also catch the show on NBC’s official website and even on the NBC app.
The scenario is one that Hollywood has faced before due to union strikes by the Writer’s Guide of America but at least that was something that the studios could somewhat be prepared for.
But with an NBC spokesperson confirming that the finale will not be able to end the season, that means Amy won’t be leaving just yet. Will the crew film the episode over the summer and use it to kick off the season 6 of the show. We are not sure if contracts will allow that to happen easily, but it seems like the most logical way to solve the situation.
