In this post, Phoebe Bridgers has released a new song from her sophomore album Punisher. This one is called “I See You”. That track was originally titled ICU, but Bridgers changed the name because, gestures at the entire world, according to a press release.
The Los Angeles artist details her second album Punisher last month and released its lead single, Kyoto. This followed on Garden Song, her first new material since 2017’s Stranger In The Alps. On yesterday night 19 May, I See You was given its first play on BBC Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In the world. It’s about my breakup with my drummer, Bridger explains of the track. We dated for a few years made music every day, and were extremely codependent. We became like family to each other, so our breakup was extremely tough. But if this tells you anything about our relationship, we wrote this song together, just like everything else.
As well as sharing the new cut, Bridgers has also announced a live-streamed world tour that will see the Singer perform in various rooms around her home. The run will begin next Tuesday, May 26 with show broadcast direct from Bridgers kitchen. Bridgers’s previous touring plans, which included opening for 1975 in arenas across America, were shelved due to the current climate. Bridgers has also announced plans for a “Phoebe Bridgers” World Tour in support of the new record which kick off on May 26th, 2020 with a live stream performance from her kitchen and running until 6th June with a show from her bad.
Bridgers was originally scheduled to support 1975 on tour this summer, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic she’ll be live streaming performances from her home instead. The virtual tour launches in her kitchen on May 26th and will conclude in her bed on June 6th.
