Amazon prime has some evergreen collections and one of them is “MANCHESTER BY THE SEA“. It was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2016, and was soon picked by Amazon Studios for the distribution.
The movie was an American drama written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan and starring actors in the leading role like Casey Affleck, Michelle Willaims, Kyle Chandler, and Lucas Hedges.

The story is based on a man after his brother’s death and he is entrusted with caring for his teenage nephew as being a sole guardian, taking leave of his job as a janitor, he came back to Manchester-by-the-Sea, the fishing village, where his working-class family has lived for generations. There, he’s forced to deal with a past where he separates with his wife, and the community, where he’s born and raised.

At the 89th Academy Awards, the film won awards for Best Original Screenplay, and for best actor in a lead role for Affleck, with additional nominations like Best Director, Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress (Williams) and Best Supporting Actor (Hedges).
The film nominated by itself for four other categories and Affleck also won Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor-Motion Picture Drama.
“MANCHESTER BY THE SEA” began a limited release on November 18, 2016, before a worldwide release on December 16, 2016, after that, it grossed over 79$ million worldwide where the budget of the film is just 9$ million.
