QUEEN SONO SEASON 2 RELEASE DATE INFO
Netflix hasn’t yet revealed whether Queen Sono will be back for round two, but we’re hopeful that we should find out in the coming days.
If Netflix greenlights ‘Queen Sono season 2’, new episodes will presumably be filmed over a two to three-month stretch later in 2020. If there aren’t any significant production delays, the same schedule will most likely be kept. So, we’ll predict that ‘season 2’ will release on Friday, February 26, 2021.
QUEEN SONO SEASON 2 CAST: WHO’S IN IT?
Mazet (Abigail Kubeka), Queen’s grandmother, was killed by Ekaterina (Kate Liquorish) in season one, so we wouldn’t expect her to return, unless in flashbacks. But the rest of the main players were alive and kicking at the end of the first installment.
- Pearl Thusi as Queen Sono, a field operative of the Special Operations Group (SOG)
- Vuyo Dabula as Shandu Johnson Magwaza
- Sechaba Morojele as Dr. Sidwell Isaacs, Chief Director of the SOG
- Chi Mhende as Miri Dube, Director General of the SOG
- Loyiso Madinga as Frederique Kazadi, a former hacker
- Rob Van Vuuren as Viljoen
- Kate Liquorish as Ekaterina Gromova. among others.
SEASON 2 STORY DETAILS
We expect in Queen Sono season 2, Ekaterina will undoubtedly have more power because the president will be forced to declare a state of emergency. Incidentally, Shandu’s rebel group will receive all the funding they need from Superior Solutions. But here’s how the narrative will most likely play out: Shandu will betray Ekaterina, he’ll make some bad decisions, and then help Queen unravel mysteries from the past about her mother’s assassination.
In addition, Sid has revealed that he was in love with Queen’s mother, Safiya, and essentially admits to being scared of more powerful forces. So, expect Queen to live up to her promise that she’ll “spill the blood” in season 2 on Netflix.
