Days after a leak alleged he was in final talks for the role, it has been confirmed that Robert Pattinson will star as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming The Batman movie scheduled to hit theaters on 1st, October 2021. The actor, who is best known for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies, was confirmed for the role by Warner Bros. ahead of the movie’s pre-production start.
The confirmation was given to Variety, which first leaked Pattinson’s potential involvement with the movie earlier this month. According to the latest report, Pattinson will be the latest actor to take on the role of Batman, which was most recently played by Ben Affleck.
HOW ROBERT PATTINSON’S BATMAN WILL BE DIFFERENT TO PREVIOUS MOVIE VERSIONS?
Without counting the two serial films from the 1940s, Batman and Batman and Robin, the Caped Crusader has gone through six different versions on the big screen: Adam West in 1966, Michael Keaton in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Val Kilmer in 1995, George Clooney in 1997, Christian Bale from 2005 to 2012, and Ben Affleck in 2016 and 2017.
Each version has had a different tone, with some embracing a more comedic style (such as 1966’s Batman), others going for a more comic book vibe (like Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns), and others aiming for a darker and more realistic tone (Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy), but they have also been influenced by the actors playing the part.
CAST AND CHARACTERS:
From the cast list, we have found out that the movie will have Paul Dano as Riddler and Colin Farrell Penguin as the main adversary to Batman by Robert Pattinson. We can conclude the fact that the story will revolve around more younger Batman who will face such villains as a detective.
Catwomen will also be appearing in the movie portrayed by Zoe Kravitz, who also voiced the same character in the Lego Batman movie.
