The 2020 Britt Festival concert season will be wholly postponed until next year, the Britt announced in a statement on Thursday afternoon. The entire 2020 season of the Britt Music and Arts Festival has fallen victim to the coronavirus. Due to Governor Brown’s most recent announcement, the Britt says it will have to postpone its 2020 season and try again next year.
BRITS OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
In a post on its website, Britt officials announced the decision to cut the cord on this summer’s musical event in Jacksonville — a decision, they said, that was prompted by Thursday’s mandate from Oregon Gov. Kate Brown canceling all large gatherings, including concerts and larger sporting events, through September of this year.
“Due to this mandate, and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our community, including musicians, fans, partners, and staff,” organizers wrote on the website, “the 2020 Britt Presents Season will be postponed until 2021.”
REFUNDS AVAILABLE
Refunds and credits are available upon request. The Festival is asking people to consider donating their tickets back to Britt. “In the midst of this unprecedented financial hardship, we ask for your help to get us through this difficult time. Britt is a non-profit organization,” the organization said. “Donating your tickets, taking credits, or holding on to your ticket is an investment in our community.”
Refunds and credits will need to be requested before July 1. All ticket purchases for canceled concerts will be credited to ticket-holders’ Britt accounts after June 30 if a donation or refund has not been requested. You can reach the Britt box office at [email protected] or by calling 541-773-6077.
BRITS WISH TO FANS
We extend our sincere wishes to you and yours for safety and good health,” the Britt said. “Together, we will overcome this period of time while discovering a new era of creativity, respect, and appreciation for one another. Everyone is going to be ready to celebrate, gather, and enjoy music on the hill in 2021. Next year will be a celebration of unity and resilience.
