Dirty John is an American true crime television series, based on the podcast of the same name by Christopher Goffard, that premiered on November 25, 2018, on Bravo. Outside the United States, it was made available through Netflix on February 14, 2019. The series was created by Alexandra Cunningham.
In May 2019, it was announced that the series will be moving from Bravo to USA Network, ahead of the premiere of the second season. The second season is titled Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story.
WHEN WILL SEASON 2 OF DIRTY JOHN COMING TO NETFLIX?
“Dirty John” will be departing Bravo for its NBCU sister USA Network for its second season, which is expected to air in 2020. Bravo had previously given a two-season order for the show in January. The anthology series’ second season will focus on a different case.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT TO THE NEWELLS IN DIRTY JOHN SEASON 2?
With Mr. Robot’s Christian Slater as Dan and Amanda Peet as Betty, the series will be set against a 1980s backdrop. The new trailer shows Betty rapidly unraveling as Dan wins sole custody of their children and has her committed to a mental institution. But not before she vandalizes his house.
It brought to life firsthand accounts from the 2017 Los Angeles Times podcast, which told the true story of Debra Newell (Connie Britton), a middle-aged interior designer who falls in love with wealthy anaesthesiologist John Meehan (Eric Bana). Only, as the title suggests, perhaps he isn’t so wealthy or so qualified after all.

- Connie Britton as Debra Newell
- Eric Bana as John Meehan
