In July 2011, Kelly underwent throat surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He was unable to attend the Reggae Sumfest as he was in throat surgery; by this, his many fans disappointed and prayer for a speedy recovery. The next following day, he was discharged fro emergency care and twitted as he was very thankful for his fans who prayed for him, and he also added he would be back soon.
