Reform Alliance officially announced that it has received a 70,000 mask donation from Grammy award-winning singer Kelly Rowland. The organization will provide the personal protective equipment to Prison and Jail facilities in Harris County. The PPE will protect the incarcerated population, correctional officers, healthcare workers, and personal from COVID-19 exposure. By mid over 1,000 incarcerated people and jail staff in the Harris County Jail contracted COVID-19, the infection rate was one of the highest for jails in the United States, The Houston Chronicle 1,300 cases remained in jail as of last week.
Now, 37 cases of COVID-19 have been reported at Atlanta’s Fulton County jail, which has an incarcerated population of 2,600.55% of people admitted to prison in Georgia who are there for probation violations.

Kelly Rowland’s generosity follows last month’s partnership between Reform and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, in which they delivered more than 10 million masks to prisons nationwide. Of that total, roughly 95,000 people are incarcerated for nonviolent, technical probation violations such as being late to a probation appointment and filing inaccurate paperwork.
