The “Rain on Me” singer posted a message on Instagram this week and called out Donald Trump for fueling a system that is already rooted in racism. George Floyd a 46-year-old Black man from Minneapolis, Minnesota, was suffocated and killed when a cop pinned down the victim’s neck with his knee. Protests have been taking place nationwide in response to the devastating death, and celebrities have been calling for justice and encouraging the public to sign petitions to end racist violence.
The singer urged fans to join her in supporting and standing up for the Black community. She explained, we must show our love to the Black community. As a white, privileged woman, I take an oath to stand by that.

In a powerful video message, Beyonce encouraged her fans to continue to raise their voices. We need justice for George Floyd. There have been too many times that we’ve seen these violent killings and no consequences, Yes, somebody’s been charged but justice is far from being achieved, she said referencing the fired police officer who was charged with Floyd’s murder.
