World oldest professional footballer, Kazuyoshi Miura, has revealed that he wishes to continue playing football.

56-year-old Miura told Sport TV that he intends to play until when he is 60 years old.

The Japan forward currently plays for Portuguese Second Division side, Oliveirense.

He said: “If I did not get help from the players and the coach, I would not be here.

“I am very grateful to the team and all the people who are around the team. I intend to play until I’m 60.”

Miura, who also played in Brazil with Santos, made his first team debut in 1986.

The attacker has played for Genoa, Palmeiras, Vissel Kobe, Dinamo Zagreb, Yokohama, Sydney FC, among others.

In other news, a 99-year-old Caucasian man reportedly divorced his wife due to infidelity after being married for 77 years.

He was said to have discovered few days before Christmas that his 96-year-old wife was engaged in extramarital affair 60 years ago.

The man found secret love letters which his wife exchanged with her former lover six decades ago, which had been hidden in a drawer.

He confronted the woman about the affair and she confessed but begged him to not let it affect their long-lasting marriage.

He, however, proceeded to file for divorce despite appeals and they are now the oldest divorcees on record.
