Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, who is also an MP from the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), has been accused of s*xually abusing multiple female athletes. However, he has refuted all claims and alleged that wrestlers are doing this because they don’t want to follow some federation’s rules.
Still, the athletes are protesting and have called for Singh, 66, to be immediately arrested. They have also asked the Supreme Court to get involved. The court has also ordered the police to file a case against Singh, and they have filed the case.
Late on Wednesday night, the athletes, who were camped out at the Jantar Mantar protest location in New Delhi, said that police had beaten them. It boils the whole matter down. Who is Sudesh Goyat?
Sudesh Goyat is a self-professed human and civil rights activist. She has been in the news because she allegedly manhandled IOA president PT Usha at the wrestlers’ protest site, Jantar Mantar.
She is reported to be an Indian Army veteran’s wife. Reportedly, she comes from a family of farmers and is a native of Sisar village in Haryana’s Hisar district.
Sudesh Goyat is the wife of Former Major Ajmer Singh from Haryana.
She was found to be actively participating in the country’s majority of big protests, including protests against the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme, farmer’s protests, and protests against the Agnipath scheme. She is currently involved in wrestlers’ protests at Jantar Mantar.
