According to a report by NDTV, Gope had been involved in more than 100 criminal cases spanning three states. The report revealed that Gope was apprehended on Sunday in Nepal, where he had been running a dhaba (roadside cafe) under the pretense of being a Sikh for the previous 13 months. He cleverly wore a turban to conceal his true identity in the mountainous country.
Reportedly, Dinesh Gope escaped a confrontation with security personnel conducted by the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) on February 3 of the previous year in the West Singhbhum area of Jharkhand. He then escaped to Nepal and opened the dhaba in Biratnagar, a city close to the Indian state of Bihar.
After speing with the “area commanders” of his organization in Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand, Gope regularly destroyed his mobile phones and SIM cards in an effort to avoid discovery. But early this year, Gope accidentally gave security forces his personal phone number, allowing them to track him down in Nepal.

Who is Dinesh Gope?
Dinesh Gope is a notorious Maoist leader. He has been in the news because he was recently arrested by Indian security forces while he was hiding in Nepal.
He is a resident of Lapa Morhatoli, a hamlet near Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand, in the Jariagarh police station area of the Karra block of the Khunti district. He also had a brother who was killed by Jharkhand police in 2003.
He has two wives named Heera Devi and Shuntala Kumari, who were detained by the authorities and imprisoned around two and a half years ago in 2020.
His criminal history
In Jharkhand, his name was associated with terror. Dinesh Gope is the mastermind of the PLFI (People’s Liberation Front of India) and is the target of almost 150 cases. In addition to these charges, he is also charged with supporting terrorism.
He was involved in extorting money and terrorizing businessmen and contractors.
