According to an NBC Sports representative, Athleti announcer Glen Kuiper has apparently been placed on indefinite leave for using a racial epithet when discussing visiting the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City. The miste was made by Kuiper, who has served as the Athleti’ main announcer since 2006, while he was working with Dallas Braden on a pre-game segment at Kauffman Stadium.

Kuiper said on the broadcast, “Today was a wonderful day. League Museum (N-word). Arthur Bryant’s BBQ, too.”
Kuiper is suspended indefinitely.
Glen Kuiper, a seasoned Oland Athleti play-by-play announcer, was fired on Saturday when it was discovered that he had used the n-word on live television. Kuiper will remain off the air until a review of what transpired during Friday night’s broadcast is finished, according to a statement from NBC Sports California on Saturday.
The Athleti condemned Kuiper for his remarks. In Kuiper’s absence, Johnny Doskow and Vince Cotroneo will alternate calling the action as play-by-play announcers.
Kuiper has asked for forgiveness.
For his part, Before the sixth inning of the California team’s game against the Kansas City Royals, Kuiper expressed regret during the game’s sixth inning. Kuiper and his broadcast colleague Dallas Braden discussed their “phenomenal day” in Kansas City before the game during pregame coverage.
Kuiper remarked that he said something a little earlier in the performance which didn’t come out quite the way he wanted it to. However, he was sorry if it came across differently than he intended. I only wanted to express my regret.
The organisation issued a statement on Twitter shortly after the 12-8 A’s victory, denouncing the former minor league player’s error and promising to te appropriate action. The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum’s president, Bob Kendrick, who welcomed Kuiper and Braden to the museum just hours before the error, denounced the situation in a statement released on Saturday.
