Pastor Harry Reeder, unfortunately, died after a car accident that happened on Dunnavant Valley Road near Dunnavant Place at 10:01 am on Thursday.

Harry was riding in a 2022 Buick Envision which got crashed by the back of a dump truck that stopped to te a turn.
75-year-old Senior Pastor at the Briarwood Presbyterian Church, Dr. Harry Reeder, passed away on the 18th of May 2023.

As per reports by Shelby County Coroner Lina Evans, Pastor was pronounced dead on the spot after the vehicle got crashed. The dump truck driver has been identified as Brad Dawson, who is 38 and he escaped without injuries.

Briarwood Church wrote on its Facebook, by confirming the saddened news of the Pastor’s demise,
“Dear people, with heavy hearts we are communicating to you that our Lord has called Pastor Reeder home after a car accident. Pray for his wife Cindy, and kids Jennifer, Ike, Abby, staff, and also for the church members and will grieve this tremendous loss together.”
Netizens are paying tribute to Harry Reeder by tweeting.
Briarwood Christian School paid tribute to Harry Reeder and wrote that all school activities got canceled after the tragic loss, including the spring football game.
They added, “Pastor provided great support for school throughout his ministry in different ways; providing Biblical leadership, by attending different events, praying for the ministry, and loving children for years.

Pastor Harry Reeder career and education
Pastor Harry Reeder was the founding pastor at the Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church. Dr. Harry Reeder finished his graduation at East Carolina University but dropped out following his marriage to Cindy.
Pastor Harry Reeder graduated in 1974 from Covenant College. He began his career being a Pastor for Bible Church in Chattanooga and later he worked part-time at the Tennessee Temple Seminary.
Harry Reeder became a founding pastor at the Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church in North Carolina in 1983. There were 38 members in his ministry and 3,000 people attended Sunday morning worship services.
