Michel Côté was a renowned Canadian actor noted for his outstanding work in both theater and movies.

Beginning in 1977, Côté taught beginner acting and improvisation at the Option Theatre in Ste. Therese, which marked the beginning of his career as an actor. He co-founded Vogagements, a small theatrical group, as a result of his love for the performing arts.

He returned to his adored roles from “Cruising Bar” in the follow-up “Cruising Bar 2” in 2008, earning him a nomination for a Jutra Award for Best Actor.
Continuing his flourishing acting career, Côté had a number of parts in well-known films. He starred as the main character in the 2009 movie “De père en flic,” which made $10.5 million at the box office in Quebec. He played aviator Robert Piché in “Piché: The Landing of a Man” the next year, and he played Roger Gendron in “A Sense of Humor” the following year.
Along with his accomplishments as an actor, Côté co-founded the theatrical group “Broue” in 1979 with Marc Messier and Marcel Gauthier. Productions by the group went on to have enormous success, further exhibiting Côté’s theatrical prowess and flexibility.
