The head of police in Allen, Texas, Brian E. Harvey, said that the gunman acted alone and was stopped by a police officer who was at the mall for a different reason. At least seven people were hurt. Their ages ranged from 5 to 61, and Medical City Healthcare took care of them at three emergency centres.
Around 3:30 pm, shots were fired at the Allen Premium Outlets, which was full of shoppers on the weekend. Several videos that were shared on social media showed people running for cover while loud popping sounds could be heard in the background.
At the scene, seven people were found dead, including the person who shot them. At least nine people were rushed to hospitals, but the fire chief in Allen, Jonathan Boyd, said that more people may have been ten to hospitals in private cars. Two of these people died later, while three were in serious condition and four were fine.

Allen is a proud and safe city, which mes today’s senseless act of violence even more shocking.”
The mayor said that police officers had been taught to not “hesitate to move towards the threat,” which probably saved more lives. The New York Times says that the Allen Mass Shooting on Saturday is only the second bloodiest shooting of the year. On January 21, a gunman killed 11 people in a ballroom in Monterey Park, California.
The shooting has brought up the issue of gun control again in the US, and many people are angry that these kinds of mass killings keep happening. The Gun Violence Archive says that there have been more than 200 mass killings in the US so far this year.
