Lakeith Stanfield plays the character of Cherokee Bill in this western-based movie. He is a part of a gang that includes black and American Native men who call themselves the Rufus Buck gang and often go on crime sprees.

The story revolves around two rival gangs. It takes off when Nat Love, the leader of the Nat gang, finds out that the head of the Rufus Buck gang is about to be freed from jail. This, in turn, leads the Nat gang to come together to settle scores and get revenge on their enemies.

Those of you who are into western-style cowboy movies can opt to watch ‘The Harder they Fall’. It will give you a chance to witness Stanfield’s performance as an outlaw.

2. Judas and The Black Messiah (2021)

A true story based on an FBI informant named William O’Neal, played by Lakeith Stanfield. The FBI always felt threatened by Hampton, the Party Chairman of the Black Panthers. To reduce the threats, O’Neal was sent to work for Hampton so that he could pass valuable information to the FBI.

After O’Neal managed to lace Hampton’s drink with a sedative, he quickly left the residence. This allowed the police to barge in and shoot Hampton and his security guard.

As time went by, details of the killings were slowly being revealed, and the public found out that O’Neal was somewhat involved in the raid for lacing Hampton’s drink. Later on, he changed his identity and switched to a new town, but eventually, karma caught up with O’Neal, and he was killed in an accident.

Judas and the Black Messiah is one of the best among all of Lakeith Stanfield’s movies; his performance was commendable, earning him a nomination for the Oscars.

3. The Photograph (2020)

In this romantic drama film, Lakeith Stanfield plays the role of a journalist named Michael. He stars opposite Issa Rae (Mae), who has just recently lost her mother.

When Michael went to take an interview with Isaac (Mae’s father), suddenly, a family photograph caught his attention. In the photograph was Mae’s mother who Michael wanted to find out more about.

Many secrets are revealed throughout the film, which will leave you in surprise. Especially when Isaac finally has all his doubts clear which he was holding onto all the years.

As Michael gets more involved in knowing Cristina’s past, he gradually falls in love with Mae. He intentionally moves to a new city and meets Mae but feels too shy to confess his feelings. Do watch the movie to see what happens in the end.

4. Knives Out (2019)

Lakeith Stanfield is the only black actor on the set; he plays Lieutenant Elliott. Stanfield helps Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig), who is a detective, to find the murderer of the wealthy novelist Harlan Thrombey.

The murder seems like suicide at first. But as more and more evidence is found, the story takes a shocking turn, where the killer leaves everyone in utter shock.

5. Sorry to Bother You (2018)

A wacky comedy that portrays racism and slavery in the work environment of America. Nonetheless, the film will have you laughing endlessly as the main character is Lakeith Stanfield, who plays ‘Cassius Cash Green.

Cash finds a job in a call center named Regalview but has trouble speaking to customers. To help Cash out, a colleague of his suggests he use his white voice. This helps him to perform better at his job and earns him a promotion to Power Caller.

Cash continues to work in that position earning a huge amount of money, when he finds out a secret about the company. This forces Cash to choose between becoming an agent of another organization or standing up for his rights.

The film did well at the box office and is still popular as it gives out a very important message.

6. Death Note (2017)

This movie has been adapted from the Death Note Anime which is famous in Japan. Lakeith Stanfield plays the character of L who is a private detective looking to hunt down criminals.

L is sent to the USA with his partner Watari to investigate recent killings in a nightclub. They meet up with the local FBI to track down Kira as the main suspect. But unfortunately, the FBI squad is killed in an accident, leaving Light Turner to be blamed for the murders. L tries heart and soul to find Light Turner to punish him according to what he has done.

7. Short-Term 12 (2013)

This is where Lakeith Stanfield’s movie career began. He made his debut in the film industry and impressed all critics with his acting skills in his first film, Short term 12. The movie is based on a home for troubled youngsters.

Stanfield played the role of a teenager named Marcus, who was forced to sell drugs by his mother when he was a child. He is also a rapper who shows his emotions of anger and depression through his voice.

The movie shows that Marcus is struggling with the thought of leaving the facility once he turns eighteen. But once he steps into the outside world, his life takes several turns.

Yasuke is originally a Japanese- American anime series that can be watched on Netflix. The leading character named, Yasuka, is played by Lakeith Stanfield, an African Samurai who served Lord Nobunaga. Unfortunately, after 20 years, the Lord dies, and Yasuke tries to bury his past and settle as a boatman in a village named Yassan.

Suddenly one day, Yasuka meets a singer who works at the local bar and has a sick daughter named Saki. The little girl has magical powers for which she is wanted by mercenaries. To protect Saki and her mother, Yasuka has to face supernatural elements when facing their enemies.

The series has only one season, so you don’t have to watch episode after episode to know the whole story.

A comedy-based series where Stanfield plays the role of Darius, who is a Nigerian-born gun enthusiast.

Darius is a very jolly character who does not like to stress about life. He has a great sense of humor and would go out of his way to help out anyone in need. Stanfield’s role is liked by everyone who has watched the series. He is known for his witty comments and refreshing attitude toward life.

Born in 1991, the actor had a sad childhood in which both sides of his family were distant from one another. Stanfield decided to become an actor when he was only 14 years old. He joined a modeling school, and later an agency signed him up to participate in commercials.
