Wednesday is a Tim Burton supernatural original series released in 2022 exclusively on Netflix for streaming. It is a series produced in the wake of the infamous Addams Family.  It is a series with one season so far, including eight episodes, each with an average running time of 50-59 minutes. Wednesday follows the story of Wednesday Addams, the teenage daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams. The story starts with Wednesday getting expelled from high school after a team of students bullied her younger brother, Pugsley. Being a defensive older sister, she released two bags full of piranhas into the swimming pool of the team during their water polo practice as revenge for bullying her younger brother, Pugsley.

Following her expulsion from the school, her parents decide to enroll her in Nevermore Academy in Jericho, Vermont, which is the former school they studied in. Nevermore Academy is a school built specifically dedicated to educating the supernatural monstrous outcasts of society. But even in that academy, Wednesday’s cold demeanor, dismissive emotionless attitude, defiance of stereotypes, and murderous intent make it hard for her to blend in with the outcast students.

Her defiance and disobedience make her run afoul right under the nose of the school’s headmistress, Principal Larissa Weems. They immediately develop an unpleasant and sour relationship which results in Wednesday disliking Weems and Weems keeping a close watch on Wednesday’s activities. However, the story takes a turn when Wednesday discovers that she has inherited her mother’s psychic abilities, which enables her to glimpse events of the past and future. Her premonitions and predictive visions allow her to discover that there is a local murder case going on. She discovers that it is a twisted serial killing monster out there which she then takes a big interest in and starts pursuing throughout her school life to uncover the truth.

Jane The Virgin is an American romantic comedy i.e, rom-com drama, and satirical telenovela adaptation of the Venezuelan telenovela, Juana la Virgen by Perla Farias. It premiered for the first time on The CW in 2014 and concluded after five years in 2019.

It is a series with five seasons, including a total of one hundred episodes, each with an average running time of 40-43 minutes. The series is a parodical version of the classic stereotypes and culture in Latin American telenovelas.

Jane The Virgin follows the story of a young, devout, Venezuelan American hard-working 23-year-old woman by the name of Jane Gloriana Villanueva. She is portrayed as a very religious woman with a fond passion for writing. We also get to see that Jane has made a vow to her grandmother to protect her virginity till marriage.

But things go completely awry when surprising and dramatic events occur in Jane’s life. It all starts with her assigned gynecologist accidentally going through with artificially inseminating her during a regularly scheduled checkup. Jane’s vow made to her grandmother is threatened by her accidental pregnancy and to make matters even worse than they already are, the biological father, Rafael, is her boss at the hotel she works in and her past teenage crush. He is a married man, a cancer survivor, and also a former playboy.

Jane has to make a very tough decision because the sperm sample was the last frozen sample which means it is the last chance for Rafael to become a father. On the other hand, she also has the daunting prospect of having to choose between her defective boyfriend of two years and the father of her baby, Rafael. Moreover, as she is adjusting to pregnancy, she is faced with the struggles of motherhood which makes questions arise in her professional writing career’s environment with her co-workers being curious about her shocking pregnancy.

But the situation settles down as Jane chooses to have the child who then grows up to be a healthy and playful toddler, while her writing career evolves immensely along with her life going smoothly. The storyline then shifts some of the focus to her family members who go through their plotlines of issues which include health problems, self-discovery, immigration status obstacles, and so on.

Insidious: Chapter 2 is an American supernatural horror film which is the second installment i.e, sequel to the first 2010 film, Insidious in the Insidious franchise released in 2013. The movie follows the story of the Lambert family, Josh and Renai Lambert who are husband and wife. The movie continues the past story of Josh being followed by an old woman’s spirit. Due to being concerned about the paranormal phenomena surrounding her son, Lorraine Lambert, Josh’s mother, seeks the help of renowned demonologist, Elise Rainier. But long story short, as Elise tries to stop the astral projections that were being experienced by Josh and plant alternative memories in his brain, she is heavily wounded by having her right arm slashed brutally by an unseen force.

Time skips to 25 years later, and we see Renai Lambert being held under questioning for the death of Elise Rainier. The police info her as a warning that if the fingerprints found at the crime scene of Elise’s murder match that of Josh’s, he’ll be prosecuted with charges for her murder.

To evade all these issues, Josh and Renai along with their three children, Dalton, Foster, and Cali move back to Lorainne, Josh’s mother’s house for the time being. But things go south when they start to experience strange paranormal phenomenal events in the house.

Dalton reveals to his mother Renai that he has been having bad dreams featuring an old woman wearing a white dress and has also seen his father Josh talking to someone who he couldn’t see. On the other hand, the police inform Renai that the fingerprints did not match Josh after all.

The movie then starts taking abrupt twists and turns with a permeating thrill and suspenseful environment which revolves around the whole Lambert family as they battle with their unwanted involvement in the spiritual world with bad entities.

The Babysitter: Killer Queen is an American black comedy horror film released theatrically in 2020. It is a sequel to the first 2017 theatrically released movie, The Babysitter. It is a movie with a total running time of 101 minutes i.e, 1 hour and 41 minutes long to be exact.

The storyline follows the life of a junior student studying in high school named Cole Johnson. Two years ago, his former babysitter who is the leader of a satanic cult, named Bee tried to kill him. Upon trying to convince everyone about Bee’s life-threatening plot to murder Cole, only his best friend Melanie believes him, On the other hand, his parents and everyone else dismiss his claims by taking his behavior as a psychotic outbreak.

Later into the movie, after Cole discovers that his parents have enrolled him into a psychiatric school, he elopes with his best friend Melanie, she recently made boyfriend Jimmy along with their friends Boom-Boom and Diego to attend a lakeside party. Upon arriving at the party, Cole discovers the presence of a new student by the name of Phoebe Atwell who came to the party with a stuffed toy and directions to the lake.

All of them engage in a series of party games on a boat together and have fun. But things quickly take a turn for the worse when Cole’s best friend Melanie suddenly kills Boom-Boom with a boathook. It is then revealed that Melanie along with her boyfriend Jimmy and Dalton are satanic cult members. They use Boom-Boom’s blood as a sacrifice for a satanic ritual but also need Cole’s blood as an additional blood offering of an innocent person to make their wishes come to fruition.

Former original satanic cultist members Sonya, Allison, Max, and John are also resurrected for participating in the satanic ritual which has to be fulfilled and brought to fruition before sunrise. However, Cole is saved and escapes with Phoebe on her jet ski for which she came back to look for gas and helped Cole evade the cultist by giving him enough time.

The movie then switches to following Phoebe and Cole as they are on the run trying to survive the cultist members who are giving chase. They work together to escape from the cultists and dynamically survive the hunt with a partnership.

Yes Day is an American family comedy-drama film that was theatrically released in 2021. It is based on the children’s book, Yes Day written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld. It is a movie with a total running time of 86 minutes i.e, 1 hour and 26 minutes long to be exact.

The movie follows the story of the Torres family which includes the parents, Allison and Carlos Torres along with their three children, Katie, Nando, and Ellie Torres. The movie begins with Allison and Carlos being called into a parent-teacher conference where the teacher reveals that Katie and Nando have submitted their homework mentioning their mother as a dictator.

Reminiscing her young days when Carlos and Allison were adventurous and said yes to everything, she seethes with frustration and blames Carlos for making her act like a dictator with their children. Overhearing Carlos and Allison’s dilemma, Mr. Deacon, who is a school employee, tells the Toress about Yes Day, a ritual he holds from time to time with his six children to maintain order and peace in his household. The concept means a full day i.e, 24 hours where the parents cannot say no to anything their children requests to be done, without a valid reason.

Intrigued by the prospect, Allison and Carlos introduce the idea to their children and tell them that they can also have a Yes Day as a reward upon the condition that they do their chores, keep their grades up on the threshold, and don’t get into any trouble. The children manage to meet all the conditions accordingly and eventually they earn their reward to have a Yes Day. The children put together a list of five activities for the Yes Day and the chaos begins as the children start putting forth their requests for the 24 hours of the Yes Day.
