There has been no confirmation of a release date for the picture, but October 2023 seems like a safe bet. The film’s original language is Tamil, but dubbed versions will also be available in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Karthi has dabbled in practically every film genre, from romantic comedies to action comedies to horror films. Since the new production would be a mass action entertainer, the actor will reportedly undergo rigorous training.
Creators of Japan Tamil Movie
Raju Murugan, director of films like Cuckoo, Thozha, Mehandi Circus, Gypsy, Varmaa, and Joker (2016), will helm Japan. Both the National Award for Best Feature Picture in Tamil and the Filmfare Award for Best Film–Tamil went to the latter picture, a political satire. After Joker, Japan is Murugan and SR Prabhu and SR Prash Babu’s second time working together.

On May 25, 2023—Karthi’s birthday—the official teaser for his upcoming Japanese film will premiere. Karthi, whose previous film, Sardar, was a critical and economic triumph at the box office, starred in the film and has already made over Rs. 100 crore globally. Karthi will star in the film alongside Anu Emmanuel of “Majnu” fame, who is currently based in the United States.
Japan will be her third Tamil film after Thupparivaalan and the 2019 smash hit Namma Veettu Pillai. Her latest film, Urvasivo Rshasivo, is a Telugu romantic comedy. Her upcoming film, which stars Ravi Teja, will be a major hit in both Japan and India.
