Episode 9 was titled “The Princess and the Assassin,” and it showed us about Luna (assassin) and Lexia (Princess). We got to see Luna’s past of how she became an assassin for the Dark Guild. The episode starts in Luna’s room, where Lexia questions Yuuya about his magic. Lexia was curious to know what magic Yuuya had used earlier (previous chapter) as they moved from the edge of the darkest regions to the house in an instant. Yuuya explains to her that he used magic for transportation. He said it like it was no big deal for him.
So Lexia told him the teleportation magic was only used by legends, a magic that only exists in fairy tales. Lexia warned him not to use that magic again, as it could lead to war if everyone found out about it. Then Lexia noticed that Luna was pretending to sleep while they were there, so she told her to wake up.
Lexia asked Luna if she was willing to tell them about her, but Luna rejected and advised that they should kill her. However, when Yuuya asked Luna politely, she got ready to tell her tale. We then see Luna’s past story when Luna was about five years old. At that time, she was an orphan. So to live, she used to eat from the garbage and steal money from people to survive another day. And one day, someone took her in even after knowing who she was.
The person taught her to read and write about various other subjects and what it means to survive. He taught Luna assassination techniques. The person who thought her was a professional assassin and someone from Dark Guild. Luna liked her master, so she decided to join the Dark Guild. After she completed countless assassination missions, people started calling her Headhunter.
Just the other day, Luna was assigned a mission to erasure the first princess of the Arselia Kingdom (Lexia), and it took her to where she is now. Luna told them what she wanted to say and told them that they could do whatever they liked with her. The moment she attacked the Princess, her execution was assured.
And if the Dark Guild finds out that she has failed to do her mission, they will dispatch assassins to kill her. However, Yuuya told her that he won’t let her die. Even if the time they spent was short, Yuuya still thought of her as a friend. So to avoid her from getting executed, Lexia offered Luna to be her guard.
