In recent years, the Chinese animation industry has experienced a remarkable surge in popularity, captivating audiences worldwide and establishing itself as a formidable competitor to other prominent animation industries, such as those in Japan and the United States.

This explosive growth can be attributed to a variety of factors, including technological advancements, improved production quality, and government support. One good example of Chinese Animation is “The Girl Downstairs”, a romance series that tells the story of Joon and Duna, a girl who’s a famous pop star.

The two are next-door neighbors who find in one another a sparking attraction, ensuing love, and the challenges that come with those infatuations. If this series sounds similar to you, it’s because the series is similar to “Oshi no Ko” from Japan.

The Girl Downstairs Preview

The Girl Downstairs tells us the story of a man named Yuan Joon Tang. He is a freshman in college who doesn’t stand out; he’s kind of the oddball. The boy recently got into Minsong University. At the same time, we also get to meet Zhu Zhu, who just graduated from high school and also goes to Minsong University.

And as it turns out, Yuan Joon Tang wants to see if he can conquer Zhu Zhu’s heart because he still has feelings for her that date all the way back to those high school years. More than being focused on his studies, Joon’s expectations at Minsong are aimed at getting him closer to Zhu Zhu. But pretty soon, his plans will change as destiny has something else in store for him, as we’ll see.

When Joon moves into a nice student residence, he begins his plans to captivate Zhu Zhu. But one day, as he leaves his building to go meet Zhu Zhu, he runs into a young woman. Yuan Joon Tang eventually figures out that her name is Duna and that she used to be one of those former pop stars that worked in an “idol”-style all-girl pop group.

When Joon reminisces about Duna, he remembers that he liked Duna’s pop music group back when he was in high school. He soon finds out that Duna has moved into an apartment at the same residence on a floor below where he lives. Hence the name “The Girl Downstairs”. Then Joon ends up making friends with her in the end and starts developing feelings for her, but he still wants Zhu Zhu, as such, a romance triangle begins.
