Unorthodox is a short Netflix series that looks upon the shackles that religious puts even in modern society. The protagonist is esty, who is from a very orthodox Jewish family living in Williamsburg. The first season has four parts and is supposed to be the end of the show.
The first season was announced to be a short one with only four episodes. Although the show didn’t become one of the top 10 on Netflix. It has got some good reviews from critics and fans alike. Even with such good approval from fans, it has not been reviewed for a season 2.
As of now, there is no information on the continuation of the series. But there is potential for the series to have a sequel season. Also, since it is a limited series, the chance of the continuation remains very low. The lead role of esty is played by the Israeli academy award winner, Shira Haas. The role of her husband, Yakov Shapiro, is played by Amit Lahav. Moise leftkovitch is played by Jeff Wimbush. And all of these characters seem to be important in the plot, they will all be retained.
Although there might be a change of characters or incoming of new faces due to the change of location, the show might take a new turn if Esty gets her child and also bring the new light into the series. Since the first season does not have a proper conclusion or ending, there is a possibility of having a change in the pace. Since esty is from am ultra-conservative community, breaking free from the shackles, must mean a nee leaf in her book. Thus fans must watch out for any further updates about the show.
