There has been no official confirmation for Season 8 of ‘The Curse Of Oak Island’, but there were telling hints on the show that they would definitely return to the island. The Curse of Oak Island’ Season 7 premiered on November 5, 2019, on History. This was preceded by four specials that aired from October 8, 2019, to October 29, 2019. After spanning 23 episodes, the season ended on April 28, 2020.
CAST
Leading the crew of treasure hunters in ‘The Curse of Oak Island’ is the Lagina brothers — Rick and Marty. Joining them are Dave Blankenship and Craig Tester. Dan Blankenship had been a regular cast member from seasons 1 to 6 but did not appear in the seventh outing. Leaving Dan, the rest of the above-mentioned stars are expected to make returns in season 8,.
RECAP
Season 7 takes off after the events of season 6 when seismic testing hints at the possibility of a sunken ship being buried in a swamp. The crew uses sonic testing, metal detecting, and archaeological digging to scour the island for more evidence. They manage to find spikes that might have belonged to burnt ships. They also locate a blocked tunnel in Samuel Ball’s property. But sadly, the crew is not able to make a historical breakthrough as they had hoped at the beginning of their expedition.
Season 8, when renewed, is expected to follow the team as they make yet another attempt to bring closure to this 225-year-old mystery.
The essence of the show would probably be the same: hunt for the elusive treasure. This time, the Lagina brothers and their team might try different sites on the island and finally get to the bottom of the swamp mystery.
