Resident Evil 3 Remake came as no surprise, considering last year’s fantastic remake of RE2. Only that remake featured a lengthy campaign and a healthy amount of relatability. Not to mention the terrifying unpredictably missing location, and some story decisions were cut entirely, among other issues.
Resident Evil franchise continues to deliver strong results for publisher Capcom. In a press release today. the company confirmed it shipped 2 million copies of Resident Evil 3 remake in its first five days. Those include sales of the survival-horror adventure on Playstation 4, Xbox, One, and PC, as well as all copies shipped to retailers.,
Unfortunately, Resident Evil 3 can’t quite live up to its predecessor. Last year’s Resident Evil 2 remake was incredibly good, blending old and new to create what I’m now comfortable calling my favorite Resident Evil 3 follows that same blueprint, but it ends up managing to feel both overly familiar and not enough. I really like what Capcom did with Jill’s character in this remake. Her visual design is, shall we say, considerably fewer 90s and her sarcastic given both her situation feels cathartic given both her situation and our own.
OVERLOAD RESIDENT EVIL 3
Campcom doesn’t intend to put this cast cow out to pasture anytime soon. We’re looking at a Resident Evil 4 remake next, with a tentative release date of 2022. This is two years delay that could give the franchise room to breathe, with back to back. Fans consensus hope for Resident Evil 8 before another remake. After all, Resident Evil 4 is already available on every current-gen platforms. Many still herald the game as a masterpiece and don’t believe it needs a remake just yet.
