Orange is the new Black is an American comedy-drama series created by Jenji Kohan. The series is fully based on Piper Kerman’s memoir, Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison(2010). Netflix confirmed On October 17, 2018, that the 7th season, which was released on July 26, 2019, would be the last season of Orange is the new Black. It was Netflix’s third original series. It was also the longest-running show with seven successful seasons.
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK PLOT
The series begins revolving around 30-year-old Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), living in New York City who is sentenced to 15 months in Litchfield Penitentiary, a minimum-security women’s federal prison in upstate New York. Chapman was convicted of transporting a suitcase full of drug money for her girlfriend Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), an international drug smuggler.
The show is initially portraying how her life turned from a law-abiding member of the upper-middle society to a convicted drug smuggler who got imprisoned. The show features the struggles and flashback scenes of a female prisoner.
Orange is the new Black premiered on Netflix on July 11, 2013. In February 2016, the season was renewed for the 5th,6th & 7th season. Each season consisted of thirteen episodes each.

WILL THERE BE SEASON 8?
The sixth and seventh season of the show OITNB was pretty popular and got a lot of viewers. It was confirmed by Netflix that the seventh season would be the last season. Till further announcement or information, there is no installment or renewal of the eight seasons as of now. The producers and creators are in talks if the season gets the renewal and also for the new renewal of the show. The decision of the Netflix to end the show in season 7 came because of its proper ending, and popularity.
