The Old Guard is an upcoming American superhero movie. This movie is directed by Gina Prince Bythewood. The movie is based on the comic book of the same name. In July 2018, they hired Gina Prince Bythewood to direct with Rucka adapt his comic book to the screenplay and sky dancers David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger producing. The trailer shows just how immortal they are as the team survives a fain of gunfire, and a wound on Nile’s arm quickly heals.
THE CAST SCHEDULED?
The official cast is confirmed and included is KiKi Layne was officially confirmed to star in the movie after Netflix picked up the rights. In May 2019, Marwan Kenzari, Matthias Schoenaertsand Luca Marinelli joined the cast of the movie. In June 2019, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Harry Melling, and Veronica Ngo joined the cast of the movie.
Prince Bythewood’s film also starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Matthias Schoenaerts is based on the acclaimed comic book by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernandez, while Rucka adapted the film’s script from his own work. They are warriors and I wanted to be able to reframe what it means to be a female with this movie and make that a normal thing our toughness and badassness and courage to normalize that was really important to me.
Rucka’s comic ended with a major betrayal and a cliffhanger and if the film adaption follows suit we could be looking at an eventual sequel especially of Theron proves to be as big of a draw as Hemsworth in Extraction. The old Guard debuts on Netflix on July 10, 2020.
