If you are interested in Netflix’s new show Outer Banks, you’ are not alone. The beachy teen drama is a perfect mix of Riverdale Gossip Girl and The O.C with a little bit of The Goonies mixed in, so it’s no surprise it’s a hit both critics and fans alike.
Speaking to USA Today, showrunner Jonas Pate has revealed that he is in the process of writing season 2 and that he and collaborators Josh Pete and Shannon Burke envision the show as what the website called a four-season novel.
After the finale of Outer Breaks season 1 saw John B. played by Chase Stokes and Sarah Cameron Madelyn Cline on a boat on the way to Nassau, Pete revealed that season 2 if green light will begin on the Caribbean island. Central to these episodes, Pate added, would be how John B and Sarah survive in this new country. he said for John B and Sarah, this really fights and flights. We don’t have anything on us, except a chunk of gold.
The mistakes have prompted jokes on social media targeting a show which has attracted an international audience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The show centers on John B. Rutledge a 17-year-old who lives in the Outer Banks region of North Carolina and leads a band of not-so-rich misfits named the Pogues: JJ. They are not the only hunting for the gold, of course. On the other side of the spectrum, we have the kooks, the Outer Banks’s rich elite, of which Sarah is part of.
