THERE ARE SOME SIGNS FOR RENEWAL
While Netflix has not yet confirmed about renewal, the executive producer and showrunner Eric Newman has been speaking openly about a potential third season.
He told the Hollywood Reporter back in February of this year: ”As I always say, we’ll go on as long as they let us and as long as the drug war rages – which, as you know, there is no end in sight.”
”But I would be lying if I said I hadn’t put quite a bit of thought into where we would go. I’ve always had a pretty fair idea where we end up. That’s about all I can say about season three.”
“But it’s definitely something that we’re actively discussing internally.”
The ending of season two also lined up a new potential antagonist for the third outing in Amado Carrillo Fuentes’ (José María Yazpik).
