The Netflix Series Last Chance U has chronicled junior college football and what it’s like for the players and coaches. In 2020 the show will kick off its season 5 and it will be the final season that the show will highlight a football team. Last Chance U, which takes an in-depth look at the world junior college American football through the lens of the programs at various colleges, has already run for 4 seasons on the streaming service and is set to return for a season 5 coming soon. All 8 episodes of the series, which has been submitted Last Chance U. The first 2 seasons of the show followed events of East Mississippi Community College before the action was shifted to Independence Community College in Kansas for seasons 3 and 4.
With the series, we always wanted to give the audience raw behind the scenes look at junior college athletics and we are excited to expand the LCU legacy onto the court with JUCO basketball. Season 5 brings intensity both on and off the field as players battle injuries, stress, and personal demons while finding much-needed support in the community and taking pride in their scrappy mentality and motto “Laney Bult”.
The show will profile Laney College in Oakland, California, and followed the Eagles over the course of their 2019 season. This show has everything necessary for a perfect docu-series drama, from the emotional story arcs of the players to the explosive events of the following world. On August 9th, 2019 they took to Twitter to officially announced that the show would return for season 5 in 2020.
