The Adventures of Jason Bourne, It would seem, are not yet over and at the very least, the series is going to continue, even if it’s without Matt Damon front and center, as Bourne 6 is in the works. This detail was revealed by series producer Ben Smith, who promises that the movie, whatever form it takes, will tie into the upcoming Bourne TV series, Treadstone. Ben Smith is currently promoting Treadstone which debuts later this month, During the last interview, the producer who worked on both Thr Bourne Legacy and Jason Bourne was asked about the possibility of another film set within the iconic action franchise.
The film failed to connect with critics, but it brought in a solid $415 million globally. That went markedly better than the Jeremy Renner-led spin-off, The Bourne Legacy which was released in 2012 and brought in just $276 million against a $125 million budget.
All in all Matt Damon seems very despondent about another Jason Bourne movie, that’s because as well as insisting that the story would have to be top-notch for him to even consider portraying the character again, he even went on to suggest that the poor reaction to Jason Bourne when it was released last summer has diminished his appetite for doing so anyway.
Another major question surrounding a 6 film would depend largely on the return of the main players involved n the creation of the last movies particularly Damon. It’s down the story and the public’s desire to see Damon dodging bullets if we get another Bourne movie with the star. It also doesn’t seem likely that Renner’s spy, Aaron Cross will return since he didn’t feature in the 2016 movie either.
