Scream is an American meta-horror media franchise that comprises four slasher films, a television series and it was created by Kelvin Williamson Scream 4 hit theaters in 2011, the slasher franchise star Neve Campbell says she’s currently “negotiating” to return for Scream 5, so it’s going to take some time to figure out how it’s all going to work out We’re negotiating, so we’ll see. since 1996 there have been four feature films in the franchise, as well as an interesting, but ultimately rather limited MTV series.
The most recent Scream film came in 2011 and saw series star Campbell return for yet another battle against the notorious Ghostface Killer. According to the sources, we now know that Campbell is indeed involved in conversations over the possibility of her return.
Initially slightly hesitant to return to the series without the involvement of Craven, Campbell revealed to a journalist. the actress told Jake Hamilton (via Bloody Disgusting). “It’s a little hard at the moment because of COVID the production does not begin. Scream 5. There have been no official casting announcements and no character descriptions revealed, so there are no hints as to whether or not any of the original stars will return or if there will be many familiar names in the cast.
The series featured all-new characters and aired on MTV and VH1 from 2015 until 2019. There was also a web series called Scream: If I Die that was released in 2016 and featured video confessionals from some of the characters from the series.
If the new movie does continue the franchisee directly. In 2020, a fifth film in the series entered development with filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett signed on to direct. It is expected to be released in 2021 or in 2022.
