In a recent chat with Movieweb, Pegg acknowledged that there certainly was potential for Hot Fuzz to get a sequel following its massive box office success. They’re a trilogy rather than direct sequels. I’d love to play Nicholas Angel again, that was fun, I’m probably too old now. Pegg and worst also remarked their zombie-comedy Shaun of the Dead Albert in a socially distanced format return in March to help keep their fans entertained during the pandemic.
The actor caused a stir among fans of the cult comedy from the Cornetto Trilogy this week when he took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with co-star Simon Pegg and writer/director Eager Wright. In an Instagram post from this morning, Frost reveals in a hashtag that the sequel comedy film has been officially greenlit. The image features Forst director Edgar Wright and costar Simon Pegg sitting down to a meal with series all around.
He then further teased fans with another photo, joking about a sequel to Shaun of The Dead. It may not happens soon but the good news is Hot Fuzz 2 still hasn’t been ruled out. Simon Pegg seems interested. the idea is in place, hopefully, this will gain real traction at some point down the line, in meantime, Pegg’s latest inheritance is now available on DirecTV talent and will be available o Digital and on Demand on May 22 from Vertical entertainment.
