Netflix has released the first key-art poster for award-winning creator Ryan Murphy newest limited show Hollywood, which is described as Murphy’s love letter to the Golden age of Tinseltown. The 7 episode series exposes and examines decades-old power dynamics, and what the entertainment landscape might look like if they had been dismantled.
Tony nominated actor Jeremy Pope will make his television debut in the series.
The limited show follows a group of aspiring actors and creators in post-world War 2 Hollywood as they try to make it in Tinseltown on the matter the cost.
The show is the newest addition to Ryan Murphy long list of ongoing projects that he is currently developing and producing for Netflix as part of his massive multi-year deal with the streaming service. These Projects include Ratched, a prequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest starring Sarah Paulson as a younger version of the cruel Nurse Ratched.
Each character in the show will offer their own glimpse into Hollywood’s Golden Age, while the show will highlight the racism, sexism, homophobia and decades-old power dynamics that are still prevalent in the entertainment industry today.
The miniseries will Star Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Darren Criss as Raymond, Samara Weaving as Claire, Laura Harrier as Camille. David Corenswet as Jack, Two Time Grammy winner Patti LuPone as Avis, Holland Taylor as Ellen Kincaid, Jeremy Pope as Archie, Dylan McDermott as Ernie, Emmy Winner Jim Parsons as Henry Wilson, Jake Picking as Rock Hudson and Joe Mantello as Dick.
