As the Half-Life hiatus has been finally ended, after rumors that a VR Half-Life game is in the works, Then we have Confirmation of Valve’s third full-length entry in the series, Then Half-Life Alyx. Although it’s still unclear on what this means for Half-Life 3 and PC players, Half-Life: Alyx launched in March 2020, and will hopefully open the doors for more Half-Life in the not been too distant future.
When 10 October 2007, valve released Half-Life 2: Episode 2, the continuation of Gordon Freeman’s story as he and his friend fought to free the human race from the oppressions of the alien Combine, The ending provided very little in the way of closure, setting up a number of plot points for Half-Life 3. But then 13 years later a sequel has been still never arrived.
Valve has made it ear that they hoping to make more Half-Life and in a recent interview developer Robin Walker and Chris Remo, said that they hope it will be happening a lot sooner. At the moments, however, it’s not been clear that next game might be Half-Life 3, Half-life: Alyx 2, or something else entirely. Then at one point Valve was been working on a Half-Life 2: Episode 3 as the lead writer, Marx Laidlaw, released an official synopsis of the plot for the now-defunct game.
Then according to the Half-Life 3 by FANDOM, several sets of concepts art like the one uploaded to Picasa by Valve artists Andrea Wicklund pictured above started circulating online. That the game was been still being eagerly anticipated. Valve higher-ups gave vague answers to the question about the eventual release date, including marketing director Dough Lombardo, who will be hinted in an interview that the company may make an announcement at the end of the year.
