The creative team behind Grey’s Anatomy is already looking forward ahead to the upcoming season, even if they’ll be not yet sure when they’ll be able to resume shooting. A show like Grey’s Anatomy would return to ABC in September, but given the state of the world right now, everything is up in the air. Vernoff revealed they probably won’t release the 4 episodes they had previously written into season 16 but may carry through some of the ideas. Fans of Grey’s Anatomy have not been able to watch all the episodes of season 16. In reality, because of the COVID-19, the showrunners have not released the last 4 episodes of this year.
However, It seems possible season 17 may be delayed due to the impact of COVID-19 on the TV production industry. The series has already been impacted by this with production shutting down back in March leaving this season at 21 episodes rather than 25.
The season has not been without turns and unexpected twists, and fans have had to confront the departure of a personality flagship.
All the lead characters are set to return Andrew DeLuca as Giacomo Gianniotti, Richard Webber as James Pickens Jr. Dr. Jackson Avery as Jesse Williams, Dr. Maggie Pierce as Kelly McCreary, Dr. Miranda Bailey as Chandra Wilson, Dr. Jo Karev as Camilla Luddington.
We are not saying it, is this the end of Grey’s Anatomy but Ellen is. On an episode of Late Night with James Corden the actress teased that she’s throwing around ideas with Krista and Shonda about the season finale. The ending of the final episode, matter so much she continued. And the fans are never going to be happy no matter what. This could mean the series delays its release into 2021 if works are halted on the new series beginning.
