All fans of Dead Rising were excited for the release of Dead Rising 4 back in 2016, many were left disappointed. The reimagining of the series’ formula and removal of elements like the timer didn’t resonate well with gamers, but that could all change with Dead Rising 5. It’s yet to be confirmed, but Capcom has confirmed that it has reallocated developers to “focus on the Dead Rising franchise”.
With that being said, we at Tech Advisor have scoured the internet to find out all there is to know about Dead Rising 5, including announcement date speculation, platform availability, and gameplay rumors.
WHEN IS THE DEAD RISING 5 RELEASE DATE?
Dead Rising 5 is a survival horror videogame and it is the fifth installment in the Dead Rising franchise. The game will be released on the 26th of April 2021 for Xbox One and Playstation 4, and the PC version will be released on June 19th, 2021.
WHAT PLATFORMS WILL DEAD RISING 5 BE AVAILABLE FOR?
Apart from when we’re likely to be able to play the game, the biggest question is about platform availability. If you’re a Dead Rising fan, you’ll probably already know that past Dead Rising titles have been available for PC and Xbox One with a period of exclusivity (usually a year) before they become available on PS4.
But what about the Nintendo Switch? While it initially had a rough time getting access to AAA games, more and more developers are creating Nintendo Switch ports. We’d love to be able to play Dead Rising 5 on the go on the Nintendo Switch, but it may be too tough for the console’s relatively underpowered GPU. Only time will tell!
