A Quiet Place was just such a movie. Released in 2018, John Krasinski’s tense trailer swapped cheap jump scares for a sense of existential dread. Played by Krasinski, Emily Blunt, and two up and coming child stars in Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds, the Abbott family proved an amazing hit with cinemagoers. That kind of performance from a small budget gets the big studio excess talking, so It’s no surprise to hear a sequel is on the way.
The Blockbuster Horror flick brought Paramount back from the dead after a 2-year slump, opening with a stunning $50 million and legging it out to $188 million in North America and $338 million worldwide on a 417 million budget. There will be no $100 million opening weekends this summer nor any $300-$600 million domestic earners. There will be no members of the $100 million losers club, nor any global releases anywhere near $1 billion.
WHEN WILL IT RELEASE?
Paramount officially confirmed A Quiet Place Chapter 2 will be released later this year on September 4. The movie was originally set for a spring release on March 20 but following the COVID-19 pandemic, the film’s release was postponed. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic still having no clear end in sight, the sequel has just been delayed yet again, this time all the way to April 23, 2021, over a full year past its originally intended release.
“A QUIET PLACE” 2 TRAILER & TEASER:-
The first teaser video premiered shortly before Christmas, along with a first look image, then we got a full-length trailer on New Year’s Day. The trailer then flips forward to just after the original ended. A shorter second trailer which has been made to be shown during one of the many ad breaks during the Super Bowl on February 2 dropped online on January 31. The first full trailer was released on January 1, 2020, just in time for the new year. As mentioned recently, the trailers don’t really give much away as far as the plot. Still, there are some tantalizing clues offered by things seen very briefly in them.
THE CAST SCHEDULED?
Sarcasm aside, Krasinski’s sequel has added a few fresh faces this time around and you might recognize some of them. Based on the trailer, It looks like A Quiet Place 2 will follow the tried-and-tested format of its predecessor. The Concept played well with horror buffs and it seems this sequel will see Evelyn and the children travel across the country in search of safety. Emily Blunt will reprise her roles as Evelyn, Millicent Simmonds is back as Regan and Noah Jupe will appear once again as Marcus. John Krasinski will himself return as Lee in flashback scenes, but it’s unclear how much he’ll in the movie.
DO WE KNOW WHAT THE PLOT WILL BE?
The main plot appears to be set almost immediately after the original with Evelyn Abbott and her children venturing elsewhere after their farm burns down. Along the way, they meet at least 2 new characters, but it’s unclear if those people will ultimately be friends or foes. The movie also includes flashbacks to the beginning of the apocalyptic alien invasion. We all see more of the family continuing to survive and finding out that they are not the only ones, Henry told the Observer before dropping out of the movie. And I think that we are also going to get a few answers to the origin of where and how this whole thing happened, I think that people want to know that.
