We admit this is probably the worst possible year for live rap concerts, but a handful of artists are staying committed to the game and gearing up for shows around the country.
Fans aren’t asking where is Nicki Minaj from, but where is she performing next!?
There may not be as many opportunities to see your favorite rappers in person this year, but we recommend you take advantage of the few concerts happening near you.
Hopefully, by next year everything will be back to normal and we can enjoy the live energy of a show without any worries!
TECH N9NE
Grizzled Kansas City hip hop veteran Tech N9ne is not letting global events get in his way of making money and bringing the heat live on stage!
He canceled a few performances earlier in the year, but come September, this rapper is hitting cities throughout the midwest and on the west coast.
At 48 years old, Tech is no stranger to the touring and recording lifestyle. He has over a dozen studio albums and has been on the road relentlessly since the late ’90s.
Since he’s seen everything under the sun, we aren’t surprised he’s back in action so soon.
Whether you are a longtime hip hop fan or new to the game, we think that catching a high-energy Tech show is a great way to kick off Autumn.
NBA YOUNGBOY
He vowed to never be broke again, and that means staying on tour no matter what! Youngboy took a break to record and recoup in the spring of 2020, but now he’s back on the live grind.
At only 20 years of age, Kentrell Gaulden has become a notorious figure on the hip hop scene, with a fanbase so dedicated it almost resembles a crazed cult!
That’s why we expect Youngboy’s concerts to be completely sold out come September when he has a few headline performances lined up with Gucci Mane and Rod Wave.
These tickets may be tough to find, so hop on those waitlists if you can! It may be a while before Youngboy is able to go live at smaller venues.
KEVIN GATES
Baton Rouge rapper Kevin Gates is playing it safe this Fall, with only a few dates set up across the Midwest United States. It is the smart move, and lucky fans in the area are psyched!
He is known for one of the most electrifying live shows in the game, and seeing him at a smaller theater is probably more intimate and fun compared to a massive outdoor festival.
Even if you aren’t a huge fan of Gates, we think it would be irresponsible to miss one of these performances in October! Make sure you get your tickets now because they’ll be gone in a flash.
RUN THE JEWELS
The epic collaboration between El-P and Killer Mike has been one of the most explosive projects of the 2010s, and the duo shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.
Platinum albums and massive critical acclaim have led to sold-out shows all over the world, which is why RTJ is flying out to Europe in September to kick off a huge tour.
Many of the concerts have been canceled or postponed, but a few lucky cities are still getting to see the supergroup live on stage.
If you are waiting to see these stars in the states, you may have to wait until next year. A series of 2021 shows with Rage Against the Machine just might be worth the wait.
The bottom line is in 2020, nothing is set in stone! Stay in the loop on upcoming shows and news with RapTV on the web and social media.
