Among the films, the studio will release Strange World this year and is already working on other titles. Such as Wish, which will commemorate the 100 years of Walt Disney. Pixar, meanwhile, will bring Elemental and Elio to the big screen.

Disney+ will debut Zootrópolis+ this year and next. Zootrópolis+ is a fiction composed of short films that follow the characters of Zootrópolis. Also, Win or Lose and Iwájú.

Strange world

Directed by Don Hall and Qui Nguyen, Strange World is a Disney animated film that follows the Clade, a legendary family of explorers.

Their differences and problems threaten to make their new mission, one of the most important of their life, a failure.

The protagonist is Explorer Clade, who is not entirely sure he can carry out his family’s task when they land in a place full of strange and fantastic creatures.

Premiere: November 25, 2022.

Elementary

Peter Sohn and Denise Ream are the directors of Elemental, one of Pixar’s upcoming projects. The story of this film is about a group of immigrants pursuing their dreams in beautiful communities where language and cultures come together.

The protagonists live in a city where fire, water, earth, and air coexist together. Ember is a tough and fiery young woman, and Wade is a funny and cheesy guy who gets carried away by the current.

Premiere: June 16, 2023.

Wish

To celebrate 100 years of Walt Disney, the studio is preparing Wish. It’s an epic musical inspired by the legacy of the Mickey Mouse House films that asks the following question. How did the star of wishes fulfill the dreams of the studio’s characters?

Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn direct this film set in Roses, the realm of desires in which all desires come true. Its protagonist is Asha, a 17-year-old girl with many wits who cares about her own.

In a moment of despair, Asha makes a wish to the stars, who respond with a small ball of unlimited energy called a star. Together they must fight to defend their community from a great threat.

Premiere: Autumn 2023.

Elio

Elio is another Pixar film project directed by Adrian Molina that follows a creative 11-year-old boy who finds it hard to fit in. His mother, Olga, is running a secret military project and working to decode a strange signal from outer space.

Elio, the protagonist, manages to make contact and is transported to space and mistaken for an ambassador of The Earth. America Ferrera voices Olga, and Yonas Kibreab voices Elio.

Premiere: Spring 2024.

Upside Down 2

Del Revés 2, the sequel to the 2015 film Inside Out, will be directed by Kelsey Mann, and the film is in full swing.

In this new installment, the time has passed, and the protagonist Riley is a teenager. The film will again show his emotions now in his life.

Premiere: Summer 2024.

SERIES

Zootopia+

Disney animated series in short film format based on the characters of the film Zootropolis. The fiction follows the daily life of the members of this world inhabited by mammals.

Zootopia was the winner of the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2017.

Premieres: November 9, 2022, on Disney+.

Win or Lose

The Pickles are the protagonists of Win or Lose. It’s a Pixar series about a mixed high school softball team a week away from playing the championship.

Each chapter follows a different character as the big day approaches. Will Forte will lend his voice to Dan, the coach of the main team.

Premiere: Fall 2023 on Disney+.

Iwájú

Iwájú is a new series created in collaboration with the pan-African comic book company Kigali. The fiction is a love letter to Lagos (Nigeria).

It is set in a futuristic world brimming with color, divided into an island and a continent. It is separated by water and socio-economic elements. The protagonist is Tola, a young heiress of the island, and her best friend, Kole, a technology expert.

Premiere: 2023 on Disney+.
