The article is about Deadpool’s Hidden Winks in the movie that you possibly missed in the first viewing. Now that the incorporation of Hugh Jackman in ‘Deadpool 3’ has been announced, we look back to find all the winks of the first installment.
Deadpool fans are in luck. Not only because the third installment goes ahead – there was a time when its future was painted very blackly. But because it does so with a luxury addition. Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3.
In case you’ve been wondering, it doesn’t mean any script holes in the franchise. So, for example, we talk about that little detail that happens at Logan’s end, which could have caused intergalactic confusion.
This announcement has made us look back to savor the franchise that Tim Miller started in 2016. The director dared to get where no superhero had arrived before. With the help of Ryan Reynolds, they created the ultimate antihero to worship.
But unfortunately, its effect was not temporary. Six years later, we are still waiting for news of the saga, and we rub our hands before what is to come.
While we wait for the premiere of Deadpool 3, we take refuge in all those ‘easter eggs’ that Marvel is adept at putting into its films. What started as a joke for the most loyal fans has ended up being a brand of the house, and why deny it? They give us many moments of fun.
Stan Lee as a DJ in a strip club, references the X-Men, Batman, and Feige’s pizzas… Deadpool is full of details that may go unnoticed at first but are worth rewinding to see carefully.
As we know, it no longer takes the ‘rewind’ and we are all busy trying to see everything in the avalanche of content. Here we gather all the ‘easter eggs’ of the Mercenary Bocazas that you should not miss.
Batman Pop!
During the fight inside the car, the radio suffers several blows, which causes the music to change. For a brief moment, we can hear some notes of the credits of the live Batman series of the 60s. The fiction stars Adam West and Burt Ward.
Wink
On this road, the sign appears the name “Ditko Ave,” which we could translate as “Ditko Avenue,” in homage to Steve Ditko, cartoonist, and comic book writer. He is also the co-creator of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, among others.
Reference to the UCM
Feige’s name, Kevin Feige, appears on the pizza box ordered by Wade Wilson. He is the mastermind of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Recall that at the time of the film’s release, the film rights to Deadpool belonged to Twentieth Century Fox. It was, thus, a nod to “competition.”
Impossible to See!
When Wade Wilson enters Sister Margaret’s School for Wayward Children and crosses the bar to find Weasel, he briefly meets a man named Liefeld. This is Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool and other mutants such as the Externals.
Already Understood
In the original version, Wade tells Weasel, “I always wanted to travel everywhere to exotic places, meet new and interesting people, and kill them.” This echoes the same line uttered by Wade (also played by Ryan Reynolds) in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).
Who Will Die First?
This table contains only known names. So, for example, we can recognize the actor TJ Miller (who plays Weasel/Weasel), Ryan Reynolds (who plays Wade), and those Shia LaBeouf, Vladimir Poutine, Miley Cyrus, or… Rob Liefeld, creator of Deadpool.
Vanessa
Vanessa Carlysle, played by Morena Baccarin, becomes the comic in Copycat. He is a supervillain who changes shape and can copy other people’s looks and cells.
What Does This Character Hide?
Wade meets David Cunningham in the Ajax lab, played by Hugh Scott. His character is well known among comic book fans, as he is Worm, as revealed in the film’s original script. Deadpool is forced to kill Worm in the comics before Ajax lobotomizes him.
Marrow
Still in the lab, Wade sees a woman with her back uncovered from which bone spines protrude. This detail refers to the supervillain Marrow, created in 1994, who will become a terrorist to be defeated by the X-Men.
Deadpool is RoboCop
After being defeated by Colossus, Deadpool is dragged to the ground and blurts out: “You’re leaving with me, dead or alive!” a phrase that refers to the line of RoboCop Paul Verhoeven.
A known number
On the business card that Weasel gives Wade is a number. This is the same number used by the character Lester Burnham played by Kevin Spacey in American Beauty (2000).
Why this Toy?
The figure we see above belongs to the version of Deadpool that appears in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
This film depicts a Deadpool unrelated to the comics and is the subject of much ridicule. Later, Wade says, “my lips are sealed,” in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Wade Wilson has his lips sealed.
Stan Lee
As was tradition, Stan Lee, the co-creator of many of Marvel’s Golden Age comic book heroes, appears as a DJ and animator in the film.
Replica of Spider-Man 2
In the strip club scene, Weasel says (in the original version): “Go for them, Tiger,” a reference to Sam Raimi’s latest spider-man 2 line, between Mary-Jane and Peter Parker.
Likewise, we find the same line when Deadpool encourages Negasonic Teenage Warhead to fight Angel Dust (Gina Carano).
The Suit!
Teenage Negasonic Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) wears the traditional X-Men costume from the comics. No film before Deadpool had worn this costume to represent the mutant team.
But who is Bob?
At the film’s end, Deadpool fights with the commando members and stops when he recognizes “Bob,” an old friend (played by Rob Hayter).
This Bob designates “Bob, agent of HYDRA,” a former terrorist of this criminal organization.
Since Fox didn’t have the film rights to HYDRA, the writers dubbed him Bob.
We hope you have to find Deadpool Hidden Winks interesting, and next time will focus more while watching.
