Chris Christie, born Christopher James Christie on September 6, 1962, is an American politician.
He is a lawyer, political pundit, lobbyist, and former federal prosecutor who served as New Jersey’s 55th governor from 2010 to 2018.
Christie earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Delaware before attending Seton Hall University School of Law and earning a J.D.
He was a Republican who was elected county freeholder (legislator) for Morris County, New Jersey, from 1995 to 1998.
He had campaigned for Presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush by 2002, and the latter appointed him United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 2002 to 2008.

Christie won the New Jersey Republican primary for Governor in 2009. He was credited with a variety of reforms during his first term, including expenditure cuts and a restriction on property tax growth.

During the 2014 election season, Christie was the chairman of the Republican Governors Association. His second tenure ended in 2018, and in 2020 he registered as a lobbyist.
