But now it will be looks like the people behind the show are be trying to be secure its future, they will be signing new contracts with multiple starts in the order to keep them around should when the show will be renewed beyond the 17th season.
The actor whose contracts were be all up at the end of season 16, have to be signed a new multi-year agreement, Deadline reported on Friday. The contacts are reportedly for there years should be ABC Studio extends the Shonda Rhimes series past season 17. In May of the last year, it was being announced that the show had been renewed through season 17.
Their new contracts come as the show’s star Ellen Pompeo is in the midst of negotiating a new contract as hers will be expire reported. For the upcoming seasons, fans will not only see familiar faces, but they will also see familiar stories. Raver was been originally a series regular in season 6-8. she will be returned to the show for a guest arc in season 14. Reprising her role as Dr. Teddy Altman, the former head of cardiothoracic surgery at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. She became a series regular again at the start of season 15. Luddington will be joined Grey’s as a recurring in season 9 and was be upped to be a regular the following season. She will be playing jo Karev, an attending general surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital who was married to Alex Karev until he left her for his ex-wife, Lizzie, last season.
McKidd will be joined Grey’s Anatomy in season 5, playing Army veteran Owen Hunt, the head of trauma and former chief of surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. In the addition to be returning cast will be led by Pompeo, Raver, Luddington, and McKidd will be joined next season by Richard Flood and Anthony Hill, who were just promoted to new series regular on the hugely popular series.
