Netflix hadn’t really appealed to a lot of anime watchers, but that has changed since 2018, with a slew of pretty decent Japanese animated titles. However, many anime never get renewed for season 2, even the Netflix Originals and now, Netflix officially announced the release of season 2 of Hi-Score Girl Season 2. It’s based on a manga with the first season covering 27 of the 51 chapters of the original graphic novel. Netflix hasn’t set a release date for season 2of this amazing series, but estimate put the release date, in summer 2020. The OVAs are currently in production so the 2nd won’t arrive for some time. Once produced the season will release on Japanese networks before arriving on Netflix.

It was a tender and the adorable love story between a gamer boy and girl that also presented audiences with ba historical look at the way that fighting games and the arcades they lived in have changed over time.
In Hi-Score Girl season 2 Akira has returned to the story and has an even more prominent role as we learn more about her background and see the story from her perspective. One of the main things I loved last season was the fact that Harou saw Akira not just as a girl on the other end of the arcade, but rather as a true competitor and the only person who could beat him. Overall. Hi-Score Girl season 2 hits me just as hard as the first, this show is not only a love letter to arcades but also to the friendships and bonds that grow from them, It’ about the community in gaming. the people you meet who love what you do.
