Saudi Arabian filmmaker Haifaa Al-Mansour will direct Netflix’s upcoming film “The Selection” is based on the first entry in Kiera Cass’s popular book series. Netflix took to Twitter to reveal that filmmaker Haifaa Al-Mansour will helm the upcoming film The Selection.
MOVIE RELEASE? NETFLIX GREENLIT THE UPCOMING FILM
Netflix is taking the beloved young adult series and turning the first book into a brand new film. Saudi Arabian filmmaker Haifaa Al-Mansour is set to direct the movie. That is not the first time then Haifaa has worked with Netflix or worked on a book adaption. She directed the previously based on Nappily Ever After for Netflix in 2018 movie. She also directed an episode of the popular Netflix series. Haifaa has also worked in the young adult realm before as well. and she directed an episode of the new Freeform series, Haifaa is known for taking a critical look at women’s issues and particularly a critical look at the culture of her home country. That is the fact in Saudi Arabia’s first female Saudi filmmaker. In the upcoming film producer, Pouya Shahbazian, who also worked on the Divergent films, said they worked on some very high profile book adaptions, Its seems unlikely that production of the movie will begin soon. No actors are attached to the project yet. It may be waiting for 2021 to see the finished film.
