Coronation Street actor Ben Price has to be opened up about how new social distancing rules have been affected by the ongoing Oliver storyline. Earlier this week, Leanne Battersby and Steve McDonald’s son Oliver was formally diagnosed with mitochondrial disease, amid a heartbreaking ongoing storyline.
Leanne’s husband Nick Tinsley (Ben Price) feels neglected and unable to help, while steve’s daughter Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) is extremely emotional. Simon, however, feels abandoned after hearing Leanne tell Steve how their son is all she has to be ever wanted. Viewers will be remembered Leanne dating Simon’s father Peter Barlow and as a result, a step-mother to be Simon.
Speaking about what it is like filming the scene without having the twins who play Oliver onset due to the current restriction, Ben said that hasn’t be posed any issues. It doesn’t be really impacted on the scenes, because the deep conversation that you would have you wouldn’t behave in front of the child necessarily anyway, he said so it is not restrictive, you just have to look a bit harder.
Ben will also be told Phil and Holly that Nick’s storyline which has been seen him try and support Leanne after her young son Oliver was diagnoses with a mitochondrial disorder somewhat adheres to distancing as the couple is be struggling to be intimate.
Ben will be added that due to new distancing measures, he’s been unable to see older cast members such as Helen Worth who will be playing Nick’s mum Gail Platt and Sue Nichols who plays Nick’s grandmother Audrey Roberts. Coronation Streets cast returned to work last week, stepping foot on the famous set for the first in almost three months.
