Netflix begins streaming all 3 seasons of cult-favorite Hannibal in June. It looks like the stars have aligned for Netflix to bring back Hannibal. Ever since its 2015 cancellation, makers Bryan Fuller has publicly stated that the team behind the show hasn’t given up on bringing it back. This show is based on the characters from the Thomas Harris novels that inspired the movie Silence of the Lambs. While the NBC show gathered a cult following in its 3 seasons Hannibal was canceled despite its critical acclaim.

A complication arose earlier this year when CNS ordered its own version of author Thomas Harris’s novels with Pretty Little star Rebecca Breeds set to play investigator Clarice starling.
The past year, Fuller disclosed that he’s likely to deliver Hannibal season 4 as a movie to explain the cliffhanger ending and all of the loose ends of the narrative.
In April 2016 interview with Express Mikkelsen predicted Hannibal might return to TV within the next 2 to 4 years. That timeline puts Hannibal returning between 2018 and 2020 which is part of the reason to Netflix officially announcement has stirred up rumors about season 4 moving forward. Show creators Bryan Fuller told fans of the show last year that no-one has given up on the idea of bringing the show return. The show’s hugely passionate fanbase has been campaigning to bring it back for a season 4 ever since it was canceled in 2015 with Netflix being the most wanted home for its notorious gore.
