In 2018, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey took us for a stroll around Ancient Greece while the Peloponnesian War was waged. It’s the latest entry with the oldest setting and rumors around that the next stabby and shadowy story will feature European countries invaded by the Vikings. Ubisoft has kept mum, even though there’s an interesting easter egg in Rainbow Six Siege, and that it’s been more than a year and a half since a new Assassin’s Creed game.
Earlier this year, the next Assassin’s Creed game may have had its achievement list leaked online, with new information suggests that the upcoming open-world game will be called Valhalla, not Ragnarok. Now, another report seems to suggest that the game will indeed be dropping the apocalyptic moniker- and that it will feature some supernatural elements, to boot.
A notable French YouTuber has taken to the video platform to suggest the next Assassin’s Creed game will indeed be set in the era of Vikings, and that it will see the return of the Hidden Blade. The main character can once again be male or female, and apparently the map will take place over a large European area. The new leaks seem to dismiss the idea that the game will be co-op, through something that goes against what we have read in the achievements list and other leaks to date. The YouTuber also suggests that the reveal is coming soon – possibly by the end of May.
On twitter the noted industry insider ‘Shinobi602’ was asked if he knew when the new Assassin’s Creed reveal was coming. To many fans amazement, Shinobi602 replied “yes”, which might suggest a reveal date for the game isn’t too far away.
